Radio is a mysterious communication form that leaves much to the imagination. I've been DJing at WMBR for more than a year now, and being embedded in an environment of music lovers is truly amazing. WMBR encourages innovative radio by giving their producers full freedom and little guidelines. With that freedom I've created the show Riding the Norse Horse.

Over the years WMBR has adapted and expanded to other forms of communication - most importantly through the internet. As a station member, and someone who's saavy with the internet, I've stepped up and helped out with various types of projects that help keep WMBR functioning well. I ran the email/web campaign to notify all current and former WMBR members of its 50th anniversary party. I also managed the evite invitations. Everything went smoothly and the event was a great success!

Shortly after I joined I created the role of "sub director" at WMBR, which means any DJ or engineer that can't make it to their show at any given time can send me an email. I'll then compile lists of all programs that need subs and find someone to take their place and continue regularly scheduled programming by sending out batch emails. This system provides another failsafe against dead air, since there is someone directly responsible for finding others to fill in. It may seem a bit antiquated, but it's a proven use of an existing technology and it doesn't require very much time or attention to sustain.
